Skill Levels

There are actually several ratings systems in use for pickleball, each instituted at different times by different organizations. Examples include UTPR, WPR, UTR and DUPR. The DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) system is used by the JPC for its events and is the most used system in place today. The DUPR app uses real-time rating updates as game/match results up uploaded into it and is currently available for free. DUPR uses a numerical rating system; 2.0 (total beginner) to 8.0 (perfect player). To start, you can go to www.mydupr.com to create a free account or load the DUPR app on your phone.

JPC Code of Conduct

The purpose of the JPC is to support and promote the sport of pickleball in the greater Janesville area. As such, it is essential that its members embrace the values of good sportsmanship on and off the court. Adapted from the USA Pickleball Code of Conduct, every JPC member is encouraged to do the following:
•    I will not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct or encourage others to do so
•    I will not engage in any behavior that would endanger the health, safety, or well-being of others
•    I will not engage in the use of profanity or obscene gestures
•    I will treat the facility, equipment, and others with respect
•    I will exhibit fairness and honesty in my dealings with others
•    I will accept responsibility for my own actions
•    I will exemplify the highest standard in ethical behavior and fair play

American Sign Language - Hands Scores

Learning ASL to sign the score is really helpful and appreciated when playing with our friends from the Deaf community. And, it is also useful when playing in loud indoor courts or at some special events.
